Collective Identity
Mr.Millers Honors and portfolio classes are characterized in a unique way. I think outsiders of the art classroom view us in a more creative or different way. Some may think that because we are in art, that we are not alike to others. I believe that art students just have a different view of perspective. The alternate view that other students in wissahickon may see could come off as “weird”. I think once all of the judgments are put in the back of one’s mind they realize how special this class is. When students see the art show they realize that we are talented, young people who have a passion. I think we influence others in our school by how diverse we are. Some people may not like to stick out, but I believe that if I can show what I love to do, then others should accept it. Overall, art in my years at wissahickon high school has helped me become more of an individual and a stronger person for my future.
